Registration Overview

Welcome!!  The Warren Youth Soccer League (WYSL) is a recreational program, with over 50 years of offering high quality competitive co-ed recreational league soccer for boys and girls ranging from all ages.  WYSL is for families that love the sport of soccer, as well as those that are trying it out for the very first time. Youth comes first, where our primary focus is on the growth and development of our players and teams.

WYSL hosts 2 seasons of soccer a year, fall - late August - early October and spring - late April – early June. Games are played evenings Monday – Thursday with an occasional game to be played on a Friday or Saturday. Each Spring we host our annual banquet.  This is a fun gathering of coaches, parents and players that recognizes and congratulates every participant for their accomplishments during the past season.  Each player will receive a trophy to represent this recognition with age groups from U7 through U15. Also being awarded are 1st and 2nd place trophies per age division.  More importantly, it is the accomplishment of all the players regardless of age group, regardless of standings, that is the focal point.

ALL REGISTRATION FOR EACH SEASON (UNLESS OTHERWISE ANNOUNCED) IS NOW AN ON LINE PROCESS.  CLICK THE REGISTRATION INFORMATION TAB FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THIS PROCESS.

The WYSL is affiliated with Michigan State Youth Soccer Association (www.michiganyouthsoccer.org), Michigan Youth Soccer League (www.michigansoccer.com), US Youth Soccer Association (www.usyouthsoccer.org), United States Soccer Federation (www.ussoccer.com) and FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association - International Federation of Association Football, www.fifa.com).Our age groups are mandated by US Youth Soccer. The regulations do not allow players to participate in a younger age group than their age allows. Player classification for the soccer calender year (Fall thru Spring) shall be determined by the player’s birth year. A player must be at least 6 years of age to participate and no older than 15 years of age in the calender year the Spring season is held. The WYSL has an approximate enrollment of over 1000 players per season, with average of 60-70 games per week. All coaches are volunteer coaches. Most of them have children on the team they are coaching. Some of our coaches coach multiple teams in a season. Coaches spend anywhere from 4 to 10 hours per week coaching the children depending on the divisions. The older the children get the longer and more frequent the practices.Referees are certified by United States Soccer Federation and are assigned by a regional referee assignor.U7 and U9 divisions do not use certified referees. U7 divisions are refereed by the coaches or volunteer parent.  U9 divisions use junior high or high school students (when available) that have knowledge of the game and are paid referees. Most of these referees have played for WYSL or are still playing for the WYSL in an older division.Older divisions, U11 and above, use certified referees that are paid to referee the game. Fees for the referees are set by the Michigan Referee Committee. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact us at [email protected]
