Warren Youth Soccer

News Detail

Mar, 2020

Hello to all of you,

In this rapidly moving situation, many have been effected.  As with other organizations The Warren Youth Soccer League has also been effected.

We have sent out messages the past few weeks both on this site, our Face Book page, and through our mass messaging system to our coaches.  We hope that everyone in the League has kept up with the issues this crisis has caused with our League through one of these venues.

We are especially concerned with our new players who came into the League through our open registration times in January and February. We wish to assure you the League has every intention of moving forward with our Spring season, as long as restrictions/directives that have been put in place by Local, State and Federal agencies are lifted in the next month.  We must, however be diligent in what we do as this situation calls for everyone to be cautious.

The League Board of Directors has set up a Plan of Action detailing what we will do as we move from month to month.  We hope that the crisis will not carry over in the months ahead, however, if it does, we will cover with you the course of action we will take at that time.

To our new players and families - we indicated to you that you should be receiving calls from your coach by mid March.  With the situation at hand this may not have taken place.  Today we have asked all our coaches to review their Spring 2020 rosters, and at the minimum, contact all their new players.

Rest assured we are hoping that we will be able to start our season on the scheduled time - week of April 20, however we will only know this as we approach April.  Please - we ask all our soccer families - be patient.

As we have noted in our prior messages - these decisions we make really do not involve soccer but rather the public health of all our players, team officials, and their families.

For the good of the game and those that play, stay safe!
