AN UPDATE IN RELATION TO CURRENT EVENTS

To all our soccer families and friends,

Governor Whitmer, today, has ordered a Stay Home Stay Safe directive.  This action is to cover at least the next three weeks or until April 13th, 2020.  In conjunction with this order the Warren Youth Soccer League will extend the suspension of all League activities to include: meetings, practices, scrimmages/games, and the Board strongly requests that this order from the Governor also covers separate team gatherings through the 13th of April, 2020.  This extension will go into effect at mid-night tonight to follow the Governors time table.

The League realizes that this will most likely effect the start of our Spring 2020 season which was to start the week of the 20th of April.  We will be closely following any new directives from the State in addition to any from Federal and Local agencies, and will continue to focus on the effect those directives have to the League.

As we noted to you in our previous message, the League Board has an Action Plan that we are following regarding the rapidly changing times.  We will be reviewing that plan and how it relates to the week of April 20th start.  There may be a need to adjust the start time to May with possible Friday/Saturday games.  Also we will need to contact the Park and Recreational Dept. regarding the annual City Festival/Fair that takes place in June and how that relates to our season and field availability.  At this time we will only concentrate on the April 13th date.  As the situation changes, we will inform you of the League's course of action.

Please realize that we are looking at the health and will being of our players, coaches, administrative staff, and all our soccer families.  This is not a time to second guess the issues.  We must all do our part to not allow the Coronavirus the opportunity to expand it's reach.  We need to "flatten the curve" as they are saying.  To copy a quote: "failure is not an option".  We can and will overcome this situation,  Everyone together can make that happen.

We again take this time to wish all our soccer families stay safe.

For the good of the game and those that play,

Your Warren Youth Soccer League Board of Directors
