Centre Soccer Association Introduces a New Club Badge

The Centre Soccer Association (CSA) unveiled its new club badge as it prepares for its 31st season of providing soccer opportunities for enthusiasts of all ages from throughout the Centre region. The new badge is debuting on the centresoccer.com website and all of the club’s programs. The club will begin phasing the new badge unto uniforms and other apparel over the coming year.

While the badge is changing, what the club stands for is not. For over thirty years CSA has provided soccer players and enthusiasts with the finest programming in the area for youth and adults. In 2012, the club began a long-term upgrade in programs under the direction of Lisa Cole, CSA’s Technical Director. Those changes have focused on age-appropriate player development and providing a full range of playing opportunities for all levels of skill and interest. “Our club has grown considerably from a more traditional in house soccer program into a much broader and all-encompassing soccer club” said Cole. “The new badge reflects the progress we have made over the years while still retaining elements from our history and identity. As the club moves forward, we also want to honor our past.”

The new badge is also intended to integrate more easily with electronic media and is a blend of new and old elements representing CSA and the soccer community it serves. The new badge still retains the familiar Centre County outline on the panel of the soccer ball from the former logo but has a more updated look. It also integrates a stylized view of Mt. Nittany. “CSA has been a meaningful part of the State College soccer landscape since 1985, and Mt. Nittany is something that all of us here identify with geographically. We’re excited to bring this new look to our club” said CSA President Matt Vidic, who led the redesign effort.

For over 30 years, Centre Soccer has developed players, educated coaches, and grown the soccer community in State College, PA. CSA features age-appropriate programs overseen by a soccer professional and educator, now coaching in a World Cup. Our programs span a lifetime of soccer. From FUNdamental (U5-U8), Developmental (U8-U18), Travel (U9-U19) and adult leagues. For more information about CSA and its programs, please visit www.centresoccer.com.
